Handwritten monthly reports of 19th century daily data from about 4800 stations have been imaged by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The longest most complete 450 stations or approximately 51% of these data were keyed as part of NOAA's Climate Data Modernization Program. Of these 350 stations about 77 % of the keyed temperature, precipitation and snowfall data were quality controlled as part of CDMP-Forts. These projects have ended, yet much of these data remained to be keyed and quality controlled.
