Canadian 19th century weather data rescue initiative

We have located hand written records of sub-daily weather observations of multiple variables (temperature, precipittaion, pressure, wind, humidity...) for the 19th century for tens of sites across Canada, including stations in the data sparse northern region. Manual degitization of these data would need at least 20 person-years.
